Early in the year, on Monday, 27th. January at 8pm, we will be holding an Open Evening in The Palace Theatre, Ashe Quay, Fermoy.
All are welcome, FREE OF CHARGE, to come along to listen to us practise or even to join in. There will also be time for tea and a chat with Hilary and the choir members.
Andrew Thomson came to live in Ireland in March 2000 from his native Scotland and began his singing training with Hilary Reynolds L.R.A.M. (London) in 2003. After having appeared in a number of shows and concerts in the Cork area, 2013 became a pivotal year for Andy, when, after passing his Grade VIII Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Exam with Distinction, he decided to 'follow his dream' by pursuing a career as a professional classical singer and singing/piano teacher. On Friday, 4th. April, 2014, his warm baritone voice will resound through the rafters of The Village Arts Centre in Kilworth in his professional debut recital of songs and opera arias. The Orpheus Choir, for which Andy works as an accompanist, will be there to support him in a totally unexpected way!
The first Bank holiday weekend in May, the choir will be entering the Cork International Choral Festival , singing in the National Open Competition on the morning of Saturday, 3rd. May in the City Hall, Cork and later in the Atrium Clarion Hotel, Lapps Quay, Cork. Come along and support us!
At the end of May, on Friday night: 30th. May, 2014 at 8.15 pm in St. George's Church, Mitchelstown, we will be holding our annual Spring Concert, when we will be joined by vocal soloists and the Mitchelstown Jazz Band lead by the legendary Seanie Chamberlain.
